St Cecilia’s Creative Schools Project 2024
St Cecilia’s Creative Schools Project 2024
The Creative Schools Partnership Programme is a pioneering cross-government programme funded by the Arts Council of Northern Ireland through National Lottery funding, the Education Authority and Urban Villages Initiative.
Year 8 pupils at St Cecilia’s College in Derry have created a ‘Happiness Soundscape’ to promote and reflect on their own health and wellbeing in a post-covid world. The process included collaborating with a range of local Derry artists, MorePies Productions, Echo Echo Dance Studio, Julieanne Campbell (poet) and Colin Norby (musician).
This two-year project brings professional artists into the classroom to teach new skills, support educational learning and strengthen community connections.
The ‘Girls in Green’ benefitted greatly from this collaborative process both in terms of education and enjoyment – all of them agreed “it was SOOO much fun”; they have grown in confidence, self-esteem and creativity.
We hope you enjoy their collective Pupil Voice.

Blog Post Title Two
It all begins with an idea.
It all begins with an idea. Maybe you want to launch a business. Maybe you want to turn a hobby into something more. Or maybe you have a creative project to share with the world. Whatever it is, the way you tell your story online can make all the difference.
Don’t worry about sounding professional. Sound like you. There are over 1.5 billion websites out there, but your story is what’s going to separate this one from the rest. If you read the words back and don’t hear your own voice in your head, that’s a good sign you still have more work to do.
Be clear, be confident and don’t overthink it. The beauty of your story is that it’s going to continue to evolve and your site can evolve with it. Your goal should be to make it feel right for right now. Later will take care of itself. It always does.
